It has been a busy couple of days, so lots of pictures. The kids have been having a lot of fun with Grandpa and Grandma, definitely keeping them busy. Friday we enjoyed a nice breakfast out at the train restaurant. The weather thankfully held out and we were able to finally have some baseball games...and so the weekend began, and has just flown by!
James loves his new trike from Grandma and Grandpa-the kids love helping and teaching him how to ride. He loves the bell and can actually ring it himself-resulting in a big grin.
Finally a baseball game-at Easter we had all rain-outs so Grandpa was finally able to see a game. It was a double header. The first game was a little bit of a blow-out but the second game the teams were a little more evenly matched. Brayden managed some good hits, I just loved his little over the shoulder looks at the grandparents as he crossed home...such a silly little grin with an extra skip in his step.
James kept up busy-walking and crawling all over the place.
Break between games, when we asked Brayden if he thought having two games was a little much he responded by telling us that he thought three games would have been even more fun! Becca loves her work and worked with her pad and pencil for most of the first game.
Saturday we drove south for three hours to explore the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. You never know what you are going to find so I am always a little apprehensive trying something new in Ok. This area was not too bad. The water was not the cleanest but with it being a National Rec area there was no Alcohol which made a big difference. The water come from a couple natural springs and it pretty cold. It took a little bit for the kids to get in the water but by the end of the day we could hardly get them out.
The river was deep and then very shallow, this part was perfect for James.
First watermelon of the season (it wasn't very good) James thought he was big stuff sitting at the table.
This was the largest fall with a pretty deep hole-people would dive off making me nervous as the water was very murky.
The traveling, swimming and fresh air just wear Andrea out. I think she slept for about two hours without moving and with kids running all around her.
I did finally get guilted into going into the water....this is not what I enjoy swimming it-all I think about is snakes! Anyway, I made it off the falls a couple times and it was pretty fun with the kids.
We hiked the trail to find the springs, this one had a pool built around it. You could just see some air bubbles. Becca thought it was pretty fun drinking the water-not the other two seeing as it had some algae floating on the top. We didn't encourage drinking from the spring, unlike a lot of other people we saw walking back with jugs filled with the water.
It was nice have some extra eyes to keep track of the kids....I was glad we had brought all three life jackets. We ended up staying till dinner time making for a late evening. When we asked the kids what they liked bast about the trip they said the car ride first and then swimming???? They said they liked watching the video's in the car.
Today we headed out to Birch lake after church. Ron and Dan road the 50miles on bike while the rest of us took the trek by car. We arrived to discover some HUGE winds making it impossible to have anything laying around. The kids loved the waves, making for a lot of fun in the water-although it left them pretty cold.
We did managed a cookout with the Marshes up away from the lake. It was nice that we had almost the whole swimming area to ourselves. Brayden loved the water. Becca was in and out, she had fun with Katherine trying to keep blankets down so they could keep warm. Andrea is a little fish and as long as she is not tired loved swimming and getting her hair wet.
We came home to have a little delayed Birthday celebration for James. We had saved a cake so we could sing and celebrate with Grandma and Grandpa. James was not into this cake so much but still was all smiles when we brought it out.James is talking-babbling all the time. Today was so fun as grandma would tell him to call Becca and he would look at Becca and yell something....then do the same for Andrea and Brayden. It is so fun to see their little brain develop. Even funnier because he think we understand him.
Fun Times!
