We headed out this evening and made the rounds of our neighborhood. Lots of kids, candy and fun decorations...some Andrea was not too sure about.

The best part of the evening, coming home and loading up on the sugar. It is 9:30 and the kids are watching charlie Brown and the Great pumpkin...Andrea still has a sucker in her mouth. Thank goodness for the time change.

TRICK OR TREAT GRANDMA AND GRANDPA

BUSY BUT FUN DAY

You know how you have days where there is just not a whole lot to do and then others that seem so packed with events you can hardly keep up??? Well Fri was one of those packed but very fun days.

This is out of order, but the girls were not too sure about getting all the "stuff" out of their pumpkins.

We started out fun by joining Brayden's class for his fall party. They had plenty games, complete with prizes. This game station was pin the nose on the pumpkin...Brayden didn't get very close after being blindfolded and twirled around. The girls had fun watching.

The cookie making station was a big hit, although most kids couldn't eat such a big cookie.

Next on our list was a stop on Ron's office for some trick or treating. The kids were super excited to wear their costumes. Andrea thought it was pretty fun to go up to people and try to sting them with her stinger. Becca loved wearing all her princess stuff in public complete with glitter and lip gloss...her favorite part.

The crew all loaded up with goodies after making the rounds at the office. There was a big spider on the ground at the entrance to the office, which we were going to take the picture with....Andrea in no way was going anywhere near the thing, so it was taking against the wall!

I realized mid week that we had not done any pumpkin carving so after some quick planning we decided to do some carving that evening.

Brayden dug right in and did a great job cleaning out his pumpkin.

Becca wanted a princess pumpkin....with legs.

Andrea wanted to carve hers all by herself....until she realized it was too hard.

That was the end of out day, completed with apples bars and pumkin pie. The kids were exhausted, I didn't hear a peep from their room after putting them in bed.

FUN FALL MORNING

Today we decided to forget the housework and just play, it was just too nice to stay inside.

Becca loved raking leaves into a pile, even if Andrea was constantly jumping in it before she was done.

The girls loved the leaves, even Andrea loved running and jumping.

Yes, Andrea is under there giggling.

Becca still has the pout thing down pretty good...drives me crazy!

Both girls love their bikes, although Andrea is starting to get a little hold on Becca's bike. Becca on the other hand is not at all ready to learn how to ride without training wheels, it makes her cry just thinking about it.

The Mind of a Five Year Old

Today all the kids were able to play outside after school. Finally the sun is shining and the mud has resided. Brayden was having lots of fun with his buddy Hudson and the girls were busy trying to climb the pine tree...which Becca can actually get in. Next thing I hear is Brayden running back in the house. When I asked him what he was doing this is what he said. " I need some scissors, to cut the rope off the ball. Now I was a little curious what he was thinking and when I pressed him to explain what he wanted to do he told me. He was planning on tying the string to the big empty tree bucket, put Hudson inside and lower him over the fence to get his balls that are in the neighbors yard. I told him it didn't sound like a good idea because I didn't think he could pull Hudson back over the fence in the bucket....he was adamant that he was strong enough. I am thinking I should have let him try it, it might have been kind of funny to watch.

FUN AND NOT SO FUN

Ron's parents made it into Tulsa this past Fri. The kids were SUPER excited. They were able to make it to Brayden's school a fun surprise for Brayden. They have all been just bouncing off the walls. Becca loves Grandma and tells her about every 10 min. Brayden has been wrestling with Grandpa non stop!

All three kids love all the attention and time they can get with the grandparents. There has been endless book reading at the house. We have enjoyed some dinners out and a beautiful walk at Turkey Mt...although it did get a little steep, a typical "Ron Hike"

Always goofing around.

This is the not so fun part of the weekend. It seems like stuff is just kind of falling about around here. Besides for some rotting siding on the house and some phones that decided to just stop working this weekend, I discovered that somehow our toilet had pumped gallons of water out while no one was around. The strange thing is that this has happened once before while I was pregnant with Brayden and while Ron was out of town on a well. Guess what....I am pregnant again and Ron was out of town on a well. Not something very nice for him to come home to after being up all night at the rig. Once again I found myself tearing out nasty wet carpet pad. The house projects are multiplying around this house!

Our family is expanding once again. Sometime in May another Haveman will be added to this bunch. Girl or Boy we will be excited although Becca and Brayden have some very strong opinions on this matter!

Showers

Andrea is usually all about bath time and not so sure about showers. This morning she jumped right in and could have played in the shower for a good hour. I think she enjoyed being the ONLY ONE in the shower....a little less crazy is always nice!

Weekend Away

We decided to get out of town this past weekend and make a little trip to the Witchita Mountains. We couldn't have asked for better weather, lots of sun but slightly cool. The kids had a ton of fun, there was a lot of climbing and they were so excited to just run. We stayed in a hotel but spent most of our time enjoying our surroundings.

After having a nice slow morning at the hotel we made it to the Witchita Wildlife preserve and tackled Elk Mountain. Ron loves this hike....I on the other hand always forget how long it is. We did make it to the top-all the kids in one piece. Ron took Brayden in search of a couple arches at the top. I found a spot in the sun with the girls and we enjoyed some fall sun rays.

Brayden loved all the climbing. Even Becca got into the whole exploring and really was able to keep up and had a lot of fun climbing behind Brayden.

We saw some Buffalo and long horn cows right along side the road. Lots of fun to have them cross right in front of your car. Andrea was most excited about the babies and how they drink milk.

We made a stop to watch the prairie dogs run around. We had just read the sign that told us all the dangers about feeding them and how important it was to let them find their own food when a family unloaded with about three sleeved of saltines and promptly walked in the middle of the field and began feeding the animals. There were signs and fences all over???

Ron took his bike along and biked through the preserve and finished by biking up Mt Scott. I think it took him about 20min to make it to the top and about 5 min to the bottom at around 35mph.

Hmmmm, they did need a little help getting down at times.

This is my little guy, getting bigger but still always the little explorer. He had found a little pool of water at the top of this rock.

This was a hike the kids did with Ron Sunday morning before we headed out on the drive back to Tulsa. It was a four hour drive filled with lots of video's. It was definitely a nice break from our normal Tulsa adventures.

HAPPY DAY!!

So, the sun still did not shine today but there was no rain and we were feeling good enouph to venture out. The kids were super excited to do something other than lay around all day. We still might not sound the greatest but everyone is finally starting to feel a little more like themselves.

Not the highlight of the day but seeing as we had not been out none of the kids minded the trip to the grocery store. Although once again we did cause a little bit of a scene-embarrassing, thankfully it wasn't me yelling. The kids somehow all ended up all standing on the end of the grocery cart when I went to grab something from the shelf. Next thing I hear is a huge crash....the entire cart had flipped forward on itself and the kids complete with grocerys. Of course it was inventory day at the store so about three store managers came running. I was just trying to keep the kids from screaming-what next!

Seseme Street was not even on this morning, a sign that it was time for the TV to be turned off. The kids and I had fun decorating some cookies-Andrea enjoyed eating all the frosting. Brayden was big into decorating and Becca was all about eating the end product.

Thankfully we all have our appetites back and were finally able to sit and have a half way decent family dinner...yes we did have food. I don't serve it till the last minute or thing get even more messy.

We hope everyone is well, it is currently fall break and I think we are all feeling well enouph that a small trip to do some exploring actually sounds like something we can handle.

Even though they seem like four everyday pictures we hope to get a happy comments!

SICKNESS....NO FUN.

There is good reason for the delay in updating. It seems as though a huge truck rolled through our house leaving behind some barely functional adults and kids. For the first time both Ron and I have been laid up sick at the same time. It has not been fun and at some point I began to wonder how we were going to take care of the kids. After trips to the minor ER and Peds we are now fully equipped with some better meds, although with it being a virus it still has to run its course. Both Becca and Brayden came down with the fever and horrible cough thankfully minus other nasty symptoms. Andrea is the only one being her little silly self.
My thoughts have now changed on the HINI vaccine, after sitting in multiple Dr's offices...we will be first in line. Although we had all the symptoms it was not the flu and I am not about to do this again. The symptoms came on so fast now prevention sounds much better in my book. Anyway, there are a lot of sick people out there is one thing I found out and at least in Tulsa Tami flu is not in great abundance.
There are no pictures to post as the animals and kids have taken over the house. We pray for decreased cough and for some of that Haveman energy, a walk to the kitchen is about all we can muster!

The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

These are totally out of order but I have having problems tonight moving them. Anyway, this was after our big morning. Brayden wanted to carve the pumpkin he got but we decided painting could be just as fun and maybe the pumpkin might last a little longer. Both kids had a lot of fun although they thought mixing the paint was most fun.

This is Andrea, after a 2.5 hour nap. She was worn out! She kept up with the kids all morning, from school, the pumpkin patch and then the park.... she was a little trooper.

So today was finally the day when the sun was shining and Brayden's class was able to make the scheduled Pumpkin Patch field Trip. The girls and I decided to tag along, so nice that his teacher is very relaxed, seeing as we couldn't drive as our car is pretty full. The day started out with the usual routine of Wed chapel. Becca was so excited to be at Brayden's class and just jumped right in as one of the kids. It was so fun to sit with Brayden's class and hear him say the pledges and sing. Brayden didn't want to sit by me....even when his teacher tried to get us to sit together, but he still had a little goofy grin every time I looked at him. Becca got a prize along right along with the kids for sitting quietly in chapel-she was so fun to watch...such a great listener, and so grown up.

The pumpkin patch was lots of fun. The kids got to feed goats, sheep and some very cute baby pigs. Andrea didn't want to do any feeding just looking, Becca loved feeding any and every Animal. Brayden had fun throwing feed at the ducks and turkeys and watching them run for it.

This is most of Brayden's class, it is a fun bunch more boys than girls but not too out of control. We all got to go on a hay ride and they had a ton of fun running through a corn maze that it totally pitch black. Becca had no problems this year going through by herself. After all the pumpkin fun we loaded up and headed for a park where we had lunch and played for a good hour. It was quite a day!
