BIRTHDAY PARTY

Today was the day we decided to celebrate Andrea turning one year old. Yes, it is one day early but tomorrow we are going to be in the car for most of the day, so a day early sounded just fine. Andrea must have known it was her special day because she decided to wake up nice and early and not fall back to sleep like she normally does. She was sleeping in our room and once she poped up and saw us sleeping she got all excited and there is no more sleep on her agenda. I spent some time with her and then Becca, who also decided to pop in and see what was going on. Thankfully Brayden slept in longer than normal, mostly because he had to be dead tired with all the weekend activity and somehow he had ended up sleeping in our bed last night. The nice thing about this morning was it was dark and stormy, perfect to just curl up on the couch and watch cartoons. This is what we did until Ron got up, I guess I was a little tired as I remember putting Andrea back in bed around 8:30 then I layed back on the couch and promptly fell asleep. Lets just say we didn't make it out of the house until 10:30.
We made it to Ron's parents house were the kids helped water some trees with Grandma, Andrea thought she was pretty big stuff sitting on Grandma's lap driving the Gator. I managed to bake Andrea's cake with the help of Becca, who mainly just wanted to lick everything. Lunch and nap time soon came and Ron and I enjoyed a few quiet moments on the beach. Brayden decided it was too much fun and after about an hour of rest came and joined us, loving the waves and even managed to get on the ski-doo with Ron and I. We were soon joined with Amy and her three kids. Andrea and Becca woke up from a decent nap. Becca enjoyed playing with her older cousin Ana and Andrea thought she was big stuff playing with the surf board. It was overcast but still nice to be on the beach. Brayden and Peter did a lot of surfing in the waves and playing on the water tramp with Grandma.
Our Birthday meal was hobo pies on the fire. Uncle Doug was with us for the day and once Grandpa M joined we all enjoyed supper on the beach. The rain held off which was nice, although the fly's started biting...a sure thing rain is coming. Andrea must have known it was her day and she would not sit in her seat at supper and was always standing up. She wore a birthday bib and hat..she was the little princess. After supper we all headed up to the house and after a little sprinkles decided to have cake and ice-cream in the garage. Andrea didn't know what to make of her cake and didn't eat any of it. We kept trying to convince her to eat it and she just kept trying to give it to who ever was sitting next to her. She had fun opening her gifts, or I should say watching her cousins play with her new toys. Becca was already talking to her about sharing.
It was amazing how fast time goes and before we knew it, it was way past bed time. We loaded up and headed back to town. It is going to be a short night, most everything is loaded tonight and we hope for an early departure tomorrow. Not something we are very good at if you know us!
