We decided to head out of town yesterday and took off for our good old stand by of Greenleaf state park. We had a wonderful car ride out to the park as all three kids fell asleep, a rare quiet moment in our life. Ron took the canoe but the big hit for the kids was fishing. Brayden was so excited to catch some cat fish-even got some special bait with Ron. Unfortunately, for Brayden they didn't get the cat fish but did have fun pulling in some blue gills...or at least I think that is what they were. It seems slightly crazy with the kids at their ages. Andrea is walking all over and just goes and does her own thing...another one to keep track of, oh and did I mention she climbs on EVERYTHING! Becca still keeps up with Brayden and kept taking her shoes off during the entire day. Brayden was busy fishing, collecting firewood, canoeing and just playing in the dirt. We went with the Marshes and their two kids who kept our kids busy. The favorite thing of the day was their two hammocks. The kids loved swinging and playing in them. No huge catastrophe's although Becca did manage to fall on her head and Brayden somehow came flying out of his hammock managing just a couple of scrapes with some loud yells! We had the standard hot dogs and baked beans for dinner with smores for desert. Dinner is always a little nutty at our house and seemed amplified out in the park. By the time we ate our mellows as Katherine called them it was pitch dark. Brayden decided he knew how to tell a story by the campfire (I will let you imagine the ramblings of a four year old) and Andrea ended up with a bunch of marshmallow stuck to her head. Becca ate at least 6 plain uncooked marshmallows and was very happy as I remembered to take her pipe along for the ride home. I wish I was able to take more pictures, there was a time when I had so much free time on these trips that I could almost finish an entire book. Now I can hardly get a couple pictures of the kids having fun. I am hoping the mental pictures stay a while-seeing all three of the older kids playing so nicely in the sand, or sitting watching Ron fish are moments I love to see. All in all it was great day away. Made just a little better with a stop at the little Malt Shop in the huge town of Beggs on the way home.

You got some great photos that day. I love the close-ups of your kids. Looks like you had fun. Maybe we will be well and can join you next time.
