So I am trying to keep up a book this year of this Blog in hopes of being able to have a hard copy of all the thoughts/memories through-out the year. Today I realized I have not been writing as much but filling up the space with lots of pictures. This is great but I am forgetting to keep up with some of the everyday stuff the kids have been up to....which is what I would like to remember in years to come. Anyway, tonight was the busy Wednesday night. Church has dinner but we usually opt out, sometimes because of the food choice but mostly because we have a little more control over the dinner table if we are at our own dinner table. Having four kids at a round table surrounded with friends running around usually leads to little eating and very hungry kids at bedtime. Both Becca and Brayden have been going to Bible Blast this year-It is hard to believe that we have already read through half of the Bible Blast Bible. Now memorization is not a big thing in this house but I figured it is time to give it another try. Both older kids have been memorizing one verse a week and then they re sight it for Bible bucks on Wednesdays night. They have done great and I am proud to say that for two week they have remembered their verse. It is very cute to see them stand by the door waiting their turn with their verse card in hand waiting to go in and recite it for the Person in charge of the memory room, they always get a little quiet but always come BOUNCING out of the room.
I should be working with Andrea on memorizing but instead we are on a quest to conquer every KA sound/word here is. She is such a trooper, going twice a week to work on her annunciation-I think it has been almost three months on the same sound, and she goes every day with a smile on her face. I should take a lessen from her. I think I have learned every K, hard C word there is...Car, Carrot, Kangaroo, Cart, Kiss, Care, Cup, Kid, Key...... Progress is slow but I guess it gives her something all her own to work on with me which might be good for the third child.
There are many other things we are finding we need to work on...things I thought we just automatically learned. How to count by Tens, Fives.....what does "before" and "after" mean....when is a "E" silent, how much a nickle and a Dime are. Tonight in our Adult study we talked
about raising a Godly child, how we want our child to grow up and how are we going to teach that to our children. Amazing how overwhelming that can be when we are bombarded with all these little issues on a daily basis!
