Today we were greeted at the breakfast table by the resident neighborhood hawk. It still is amazing to see this bird in our backyard. Today he was extra fluffy with his winter coat. We decided to see how many different birds we could see....I think we are going to need to continue tomorrow seeing as we didn't do to well. We did manage to get bird seed in all the feeders but the birds have yet to discover their bountiful feast. The squirrels did make a showing later in the day-I suggested shooting them, Becca wanted nothing to do with that idea!
We did get to see the white pelicans that have migrated here for the winter...although I thought it was pretty cold today.
It wouldn't be a complete outing if we didn't stop at a park. This kids were crying about their hand being freezing but in the next minute they were asking if they could play.
Becca could not figure out the binoculars....she got so frustrated because she couldn't see anything but blue.
We found some great pine-cones on a walk earlier in the week. The kids had fun making a bird feeders this morning, although Andrea kept wanting to eat the peanut butter off hers.
Our ever watchful hawk-always impressive to see.

Beth, that sounds like a wonderful day. So glad kids, your cuties in particular, are still making pinecone bird feeders. Thanks for sharing.
