Yesterday evening the kids finally got to do their pumpkin carving. We had some friends over and had been talking to Brayden and Becca about it during the week, it was hard for them to wait till Sat. Sat afternoon came around-slow for the kids and fast for Ron and I, as we kept busy trying to get all the little jobs done around the house. Having people over can be great motivation to get stuff done. I think if we stayed home more often we might get more done....that might be the reason I like to head out. Anyway, we had about 5 couples over and had a lot of fun. The kids got to rough house and play in the yard, it was a perfect late afternoon to be outside. By the time the sun went down there was just a little chill in the air, perfect to come inside for some chili. Brayden wanted a scary face for his pumpkin but Becca didn't want anything to do with a scary face, she was scared of Brayden's pumpkin. Ron was master carver, carving three pumpkins. Our neighbor came over and did some judging for us, it was not rigged but all three of Ron's pumpkins won in different categories. He was beat out in the intricate carving category. The people who used the stencil's were the most impressive but also the most time consuming, I think the charlottes web pumpkin would have won in some category but didn't make the time cut. It was a nice relaxing evening, the kids were entertained and being able to just sit and talk is always a nice thing.
Becca is recovering from her week of scrapes and cuts. She managed to fall in the parking lot while out to lunch with Ron and got two scraped knee's. For a while I felt like she was covered in band aids. Again, she was so brave getting the stitches out this week. She laid there and let the Dr cut them right out. Her eyes were about as big as I have ever seen them but no tears. Brayden was so sweet, on the way there he said it was okay to cry because he cried last time he was there as he got three shots. Becca sure is one tough little girl, but still as sensitive and sweet as she can be.
Andrea continues to grow-too fast for me and has actually be trying to say a couple more words. She has been mimicking by intonation "thank-you" which is so cute to hear her say, although I would probably be the only one to understand her.

That looks like so much fun! Ron did a really good job. I like the one that says "Trick or Treat"! They did a nice job. I can't believe how much Andrea is changing--she is looking more like a toddler --moving out of the baby stage. Glad you had a great time!
