Busy Day

What a Saturday! We started out the day by heading to the zoo for the annual Zoo Run. I was the one to run this year and Ron was the wonderful husband on kid duty for the morning. The kids favorite part about Race day is that we usually hit the donut shop on our way to the race. Brayden had his long john, Becca her pink sprinkle and Andrea complete with donut holes. For more on the race check out http://321-letsrun.blogspot.com/. We enjoyed seeing some of the animals, the petting zoo was finally open and Andrea just loved petting and combing the sheep.

After a short nap session, not long enough for me to even get a little cat nap in, we headed out to a friends birthday party. The kids had a blast. There was a Jupiter jump complete with slide. Even Andrea finally got in on the action with a little help from Ron...she has no fear! Brayden and Becca discovered it was more fun jumping from the top of the slide and flying through mid-air than just sliding down the slide. It was a frog/jump party complete with cupcakes with frogs on them and green frog push-ups all a complete hit with the kids.

We ended the evening by heading to the Annual Big Pond Chili Cook Off. We didn't enter any chili this year but did enjoy some that were left. The favorite of the evening was a peach chili topped with a little olive-sounds crazy but it was delicious and just the right amount of spice. The kids stayed busy throwing just about any rock/stone/grass into the pond and playing on another Jupiter jump. Four years ago we were about the only family with kids now the place was crawling with kids-what a fun change. One of the most original chili's was called Cow Pie Chili-the set up was complete with a cow and I will let you imagine how your chili was dispensed. Anyway it was a fun evening and the kids should be exhausted as I know both Ron and I are!
