Today marks the day that changed both myself and Ron's life-the day we starting raising our children. Even with the challenges, struggles, sleeplessness-I love and treasure every moment (most every moment-ha ha) Little did I know how my life would change and grow. Brayden is four years old today. We were blessed to have lots of family and friends come for his birth and today his was spoiled with many special phone calls. His face lites up when he hears someone ask for him on the phone or a package comes that has a B on it (unfortunately he can't tell if it says Brayden or Beth).
Today we learned how to play the game chutes and ladders, a gift from Aunt Sharon and Uncle Kevin. Brayden got the hang of it quite fast and although we didn't have any tears, he was not a very happy camper when he would land on the slide, or fall out of first place. I always wonder where that competitive drive comes from-he is determined to be first, or win and anything. Yes, I did let him win at the game, it was his birthday-but that won't always happen as he is learning at the same time that being last is just as good. Becca enjoyed the game, although she just liked doing the spinner and playing with her little girl player piece.
Grandpa and Grandma H left yesterday afternoon. Both kids had a lot of fun playing and spending time with them. Becca got lots of cuddles and enjoyed being read to. Brayden had lots of fun playing any type of sport with Grandpa and watching him make a holder for his new baseball bat. So we are trying to get back into a routine again. I know things have been a little crazy. Today I gave Becca some sweet pea's to try and she looked at me and said "skittles??" time to get rid of the sugar in this house!
Brayden is off to a baseball game-ORU tonight with daddy. He loves watching the game and when I said he needed to quick eat supper he said he didn't need any because he was going to eat supper at the game. "I am going to have popcorn for supper!
I am currently typing this with a little girl standing on the chair behind me, hanging on my neck asking me over and over and over again to sing skidamarink a dink a dink skidamarink a dooo I LOVE YOU.... she loves that song.
Oh, in the middle of all this birthday fun, Andrea got her second tooth! She is exploring more and more every day and is starting to get on her knees and grab at things(not a lot of balence)-such a fun stage, but able to get into most everything including the dog and cat! For now she is happy playing in and around the table and chairs.
