Another Monday, Another Week

Today we started another week, although for myself and the kids it feels like we never had a weekend. It is funny how mundane a daily routine can be and still get everyone through the day. Today the kids convinced me to get Popsicles-yes, after some long days my no's gradually turn into OKAY's/what the harm. You have to understand that this was our treat when the weather was scorching hot and both kids faces were beet red from being outdoors. So today was not a scorcher but pleasant, still both kids loved their Popsicles-first of the summer season/or should I say spring.

Brayden is turning four this month and we are having lots of fun talking about his upcoming party. Today we were talking about what he was looking forward to and his face lite up..SILLY STRING, like daddy's party. Great, I am not looking forward to cleaning up that mess! He is able to understand that on Sat we are going to celebrate and have cake. (The concept of time is always a challenge for him to understand) So today we made a chain to help him count down the days. Becca also had fun making the chain-so intently she works on things, although I do not think she has a clue as to why we tear one off each morning. It's just fun!

I am constantly reminded on how the kids grow, today I found Andrea half out the back door and Becca, being the concerned sister trying to hold the door open for her. Not a good thing as we have two steps. Anyway Andrea was rescued before she lost her fingers to the door, and her face to the stone steps!

We have been playing a lot of baseball, which it's lots of fun but tiring, I need a reserve pitcher! Brayden now understands about being safe, so he just runs to first base and refuses to move. Let this be a warning to all the future pitchers of his-Today he about took my neck out-line drive right at me. Even though it was a plastic ball it gave me a good jolt. I am not looking forward to him moving up to actual baseballs-I might actually have to get a glove!

How exciting, a birthday coming up!! That was a cool idea to make a chain to help him count down the days--very clever!! It was a beautiful day today, and popsicles don't sound like a bad idea too!!
