It is amazing to me how fast a week can fly by and all that can happen. Yes, it is the end of school so the parties and end of school activities have taken over-but it's all in fun, but I must get last weekends pics finished! Mother's day was special and different but wonderful. Usually we are at home and we miss celebrating with our mothers and grandmothers. It is so special to spend the day with Grandma's and Great Grandma's. We enjoyed a yummy dinner with my family and then headed off to Ron's parents house to celebrate with them. The day was beautifully sunny and the boys ended up swimming in Lake MI-freezing but they were fully in, underwear and all. The big hit was the dekruyter's new kitty-we are lobbying hard for one of our own....no progress made so far. Since we had most everyone together James got an early celebration for his birthday. He thought it was pretty fun, although lighting of the candles did freak him out a little. Such a special day-so glad we made the trip!
This was our yummy Mother's Day meal-very yummy and special with everyone present. We missed Aunt Robyn....Congrats to her and Uncle Doug, next mother's day will be extra special next year!! I have to say the Orange Salad was the hit of the meal for Andrea. I opened the kids mother's day projects they made at school-they were so cute...I must have big lips according to Becca. This was a fun book to read, I learned a lot about myself, or rather what Becca's thinks I think/like/dislike-very cute.
The girls were enthralled with Grandma's new sewing machine and the fact that it could sew their names. Each has a little piece of fabric with their name sewn in the middle-including Brayden.
This was Ron's big quest for the weekend, acquiring a Hobie-cat-which he did. Now we just need to see if it sails!!
Brayden missed his Young Authors Tea for this weekend as we missed a couple days of school. He actually cried when I told him he was missing two days of school. Turned out this was much better. He was able to read his two books to both Grandparents, Cousins and Aunts and Uncles-very special!
This was the hit of the weekend-Becca can almost come to tears thinking about her!
No Tulips but I did find this field of Beautiful wild flowers-not sure of their name but it was beautiful.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!!
