Spring!!! and Thankfullness

Spring is exploding all around-making for a huge desire to be outside enjoying the beauty of nature.  Today Andrea and I were set on finding all things "spring" during our walk after being cooped up inside-yes, we do love bible study but on days like today looking out a window....just doesn't suffice.  We heard and saw birds, butterflies-James favorite, wild flowers, dandelions, weeds, blooming bushing, blossoming trees, grasshoppers.  With the clear blue sky and warm sun shining on us and all the growth and beauty surrounding us how can we not give thanks for Gods hand all around.  Such a breath of fresh air amongst the responsibilities than so easily weigh my day down.  Tonight we attended a State of Appreciation concert for our troops put on by the US Army Field Band and Chorus.  What a special evening, I only wish we could have made the entire presentation...four kids on a school night meant my goal was just intermission, which we made but definitely no more.  I loved hearing the Sousa Marches, the musicianship was superb-wonderful soloist, vocal and instrumental.  The funniest moment was watching the kids fist pump and bounce around to a piece then about jump out of their skin at the surprise stinger at the end of the piece, followed by a bunch of giggling because they thought it was so funny. Once again we are reminded of the sacrifice to many of those around us make to help make this country what it is-what a special night of thanks and memory!
