A Beautiful Sunday

Spring is just around the corner and on days like yesterday it is pretty hard not to get out and enjoy the beauty springing  up all around town.  Yesterday we decided late in the day to load up the bikes and do a little exploring.  We ended up seeing a lot of fun things, I was biking behind Becca we was keeping a running list of everything she saw.  She kept telling me she wished she had her notepad to write it all down....including the dead squirrel!  Our first stop after winding through some neat/old neighborhood streets was Woodward park where the daffodils were in full bloom.

It looks like quite a bunch of bikes when they are all laying on the ground.   It was at this point that we realized Andre had a flat tire.  Must be the week for flats as Ron had three flat tires while biking earlier this week.  Thankfully we had the trailer and were able to use it as a carrier for the bike.....and Andrea.

We then continued on to Swan lake-actually just a little pond but still fun to see.  Lots of ducks and a couple swans.  The kids had fun watching the ducks and discovering some duck eggs.

Now it was the push to get back to the path before the sunset.  It is so hard to convince Becca to peddle fast.  She still carried on a running commentary the entire ride back, actually so fun to listen as she basically just says any thought that runs through her head.  "oh, a bunny, a flag....I need my pad to write all this down, oooohhhh flowers, yuck there's the dead squirrel, there are lots of dogs...yeh they have a pool, I smell horses"  and on and on she goes!  Finally we made it back to the river to see the sun set into the refinery filled skyline.

The best husband ever!  I love my weekends when we can all hang out together.  Ron managed to get in a 40mile bike ride Sat and run 12 miles Sun...still smiling after leading us on our Sunday ride.  We are loving the spring weather, both able to get out and work on adding some miles to our legs!
