Library
Today I had one of those moments/memories that I hope I can tuck away and always remember. I have always loved to read, even though I don't always get/take the time I still love a good book. Ron also enjoys to read-although you will find him in the non-fiction area, some place I rarely venture. With school starting and with Andrea's speech class we have not done well in making our normal story time as I had with the other kids. Today we decided to visit the library after school, seeing as we were needing some more reading books, and I just miss going (it is amazing the books you go through with the kids and their required reading). Anyway, I sent the kids to the childrens section while James and I headed to the non-fiction area to pick up a book for Ron. After I found the book I walked back to the kids area praying they were not fighting with each other. What I saw was a rare moment! finally, I didn't need to discipline or hand out consequences!! I could actually compliment-truly. All three were quietly sitting at a table looking at a book. Okay-this is not the norm for us, the noise level with all four usually leaves me with pounding headache by the end of the day. God did not bless me with quiet natured kids-which I am okay with but that is why this was such a special thing for me to see. Each kid had found a book special for them. Brayden had a HUGE star wars book and was deep into the working's of some starship. Andrea was into a new Bernstein Bear book we had not read and Becca was exciting to find a Goldalicious book...not pink or purple. Well, the moment was short...kids were off to the potty, James began yelling for her book and Becca became ambivalent as to what book she should check out, but just having that mental picture of all three sitting quietly doing something they love, and I love was just the best.
