Ever since the kids have been in Kindergarten they talk about the cool things the older kids get to do....invention convention, wax museum...I have been dreading them only because they take extra work. Well, the invention convention time rolled around and it turned out to be a lot of fun. Thankfully Ron did most of the work with Brayden-his ideas were way beyond anything I could help him with. The kids had to come up with a problem and then propose a solution and then work it out-something tangible to present. Brayden's problem was lego's under the bed. I have to say our solution kind of changed as the creative process evolved or rather as the time line loomed! Turned out lego's are hard to pick up with a remote lego car. Between Ron and Brayden they designed a lego car with a wheel that would sweep "lego's" marbles! in the back of it. Between switches and lights it was quite a process-but Brayden was all smiles this morning telling all the kids about it.
It was so fun to walk through the tables and talk to all the kids. They did such a great job explaining their invention. Most fun was to ask what they thought up and see their faces light up talking about their invention.
I think Becca is already planning her invention for next year.
