My Buddy

The days seems to just float right on by.  With kids in school it seems like there should be more time to my day when in fact there still is just not enough time.  James is my day buddy helping keep things in perspective.  I love having him home-a reminder to get out and play...to forget the world of electronics and enjoy playtime.  Funny thing is that we all feel a whole lot better without the pull of what the world thinks is important.
James is my gardening/lawn buddy-although he is all about learning jumps on his bike and skate-board instead of helping.   This week has been painting week for me-James watches for a bit and then is off to play with his cars and race tracks.  Looking at houses has pushed me to make some updating around our house-how slowly things get done!
The weather is sunny and warm-we are all looking forward to little fall weather.  Andrea is off to the orchard today but it hardly feels like apple season.  James loves seeing all the pumpkins the neighbors has decorating their yard.  The highlight of the everyone but me is our neighbor who loves Halloween and has made his entire front lawn into a grave yard.  Somehow even Becca thinks seeing skeletons crawling out of the ground fun...just grouse for me!

Becca is loving being a teacher to James.  She is teaching him to be a gymnast-even giving him a little star chart for his accomplishments.

The other evening James lost his pacifier when the sitter was at the house....I think it was a long evening for her.  We decided to lose it permanently-night times thankfully are going smoothly but so much for napping.  Quiet time is still a must but I never quite now what I am going to find when I go to get the little guy up.

Andrea had a blast at her first K5 field trip-she was so proud to show off her apples she picked out.  I think we are going to have to make them into applesauce as they were quite bruised by the time they made it home.

No before pics so they don't mean a whole lot.  This is my kind of painting!  No sanding, fast drying, minimal mess.

Love the post- Its so nice to just hang out outdoors with the kids! James is pretty lucky to have you to himself! Painting...I'm impressed. What kind of paint are you using? Do you have to put a special finish or glaze on it. It all looks nice!

Easy make your own chalk paint, then seal with minwax paste wax...which is actually the most work. Pretty easy and it covers some pretty heavy wood grain.
