Weekend Wrap-up

This weekend was the ending for all things "work" related.  Sunday the kids sang in both services (the end of one which meant sitting with all the kids through a sermon!?? really?? who planned that?) concluding everything VBS...my folder is officially on the shelf to collect dust!  I do have to say it seemed that on the whole kids had a blast regardless of what it takes during the week behind the scenes.

Check out Kirk Kids on Facebook....so sad, I have no pictures from this year.

Sunday was also our final awards ceremony for our American Heritage Girl Troup which the girls have been a part of this year.  I have been leading the Tenderhearts girls-Becca's age, which has been a lot of fun but also a lot of work.  I love getting to be with just the girls doing fun things...just not so sure I enjoy being the one planning and organizing!  Andrea was in the youngest group called the Pathfinders and Sunday she graduated up to the Tenderheart group.  Becca wasn't so sure about having Andrea in her class next year.  This was the first year for our troup to meet and it was really nice to see it all come together.

It was also the final day for Tulsa Tough.  Last year we all rode in the afternoon Townie Ride and did so again this year.  I love seeing the kids grow and mature.  Ron had rebuilt my old mountain bike for Brayden. It was the first time for him to ride using gears.  He was pretty proud and excited to learn, I am sure he is going to have some fun mountain biking with Ron in the future.  Once again Becca is my lackadaisical rider and could care less where she is and how fast she is going.  Andrea has a bunch of drive and was all about riding hard until her legs would get tired and would need a little pull.  I have always loved be active with the kids but it is getting easier and more enjoyable the older they get.  Hard to believe...no trailer this year, just an extra seat on Ron's bike for James.

We have been once again enjoying tickets to see the Drillers Baseball team from Ron's work.  Today we headed out to an afternoon game.  I thought it would be fun until summer decided to roll in. What a hot day!  We still had a lot of fun but enjoyed the splash pad and playground out behind center field a little more than the wonderful company seats!
