Memorial weekend my parents were visiting and we headed out to Sequoya State Park-not CA! for the day. The kids were super excited as this was their first time at any lake swimming-with all the rain and cool temps we haven't been out yet. Crazy because it was in the hundreds temp wise last year at this time. The kids had fun playing in the water, riding bikes. We even got to see the animals at the nature center fed-bald eagles, coyotes, owls. The park has a wonderful bike path which was nice until Brayden came apon a huge snake stretched out across the path, only in OK! Speaking of OK, only here can you see some fishermen get out of their boat carrying a 40lbs paddle fish!
Puffs, cherries, candy, caramel apple salad.....picnic day on Memorial day is always the best!
I think James was more excited to eat the watermelon than celebrate his birthday!
It was crazy windy that day-spring weather....which brought terrible storms/tornadoes later that week.
I thought we packed pretty light...James was concerned we forgot the canoe!
The boys were able to get in a round of Golf before Grandpa had to head back to MI
