Summer Fun

I never thought I would get past the baby stage with the kids and when people would tell me things would get easier I had my doubts.  Turns out things are changing, and I am loving having the kids a little older!  We are done with schedules and I can't say what a relief it has been to not think about how I am going to schedule our day so we can at least eat dinner together.  Not thinking about dropping kids off or picking up, lunches, school requirements, getting to and from practices is just the best!  We are loving summer fun, although a pool would be pretty nice right now.  It is actually fun hanging out with the kids, not just work. Late breakfast...mid afternoon lunch and relaxing evenings where everyone is pretty much beat.  I have to say not having naps is a change one I dreaded for years but with older kids not needing so much hands on care and a shift to slower days has balanced everything out.  Crazy how change creeps up on us but I have to say so far it has been refreshing.  Now if only I can figure out how to get everyone to get along and pick up their stuff without incentives life would be a breeze!  I might even be able to read a book at the pool in the near future.

 I try my best to let the kids play...sometime I do have to step in, they have some crazy ideas.

I have to say between Lilly and Sandy, Sandy our kitty is much easier and at this point still pretty sweet.  I am amazed because she seems to get beat up by Lilly.  She loves the outdoors but seeing her snoozing around the house late afternoon just makes me relaxed.
