Busy Day

Funny how some days can seem so long and then days like today just fly by and leave you exhausted! Ron spent the day battling the wind with the canoe and I spent the day just keeping up with the kids, minus Brayden. Brayden, Ron and his dad headed to the Illinois river this morning while the rest of us headed off to the zoo and nature center. There was a bird feeder activity that I thought might be fun for the kids-amazingly we did make it there by 10am-always a little hard on Saturday mornings. We arrived and the guide said we were taking a walk first-I got a little nervous, actually I was ready to bail and just head to the zoo but we headed out and it actually turned out okay. The kids had fun exploring around the nature center pond and actually ended up seeing a snake that was eating a frog....in Becca's words, Gross!!! After making a bird feeder with pine cones and peanut butter we headed to the zoo with about half of Tulsa. It was warm, windy...a beautiful sunny day. They kids had fun seeing elephants, zebra's, bears....Becca loved seeing the lambs in the petting zoo. Andrea loved having a picnic with her ladybug lunch bag. I was excited to take James as this was his first time, sad to say he was so tired he just zoned out in front of the stroller, not much reaction. We made it home in time for a short nap before heading to another park for a birthday party. Now the wind had picked up...and the cake was almost blown away, this Tulsa weather can be so crazy. Ron and the boys made it home around dinner time, Brayden only caught one fish and I think they had to do a lot of paddling. I think at one point Ron said the wind was about blowing them upstream. We did enjoy a nice dinner out all of us but by the time we all got back home I think we were all ready for bed...except for Andrea who in her own words was NOT TIRED!

This was also yesterday, the shade was a much better place than the sun-ninety degree weather, what happened to our spring weather.  The kids were into Popsicles and ready for running through the sprinkler.

This was actually last night.  We enjoyed watching ORU play some baseball-a fun game, nine runs-lots of hitting, for the home team.

Brayden pulled out the tooth from this skull he found, he has it by his pillow to see if the tooth fairy will come!
