Some More Pics

Just a bunch of random pics.  This past weekend my parents came for a visit.  So nice to have family come and the weather stay nice.  Summer is hanging around for a while but some cool breezes blew in for their weekend making it much more enjoyable watching soccer and baseball games.

This was James' team...they were pretty happy to see the girls from their class playing next to them this morning.
 What a silly bunch.

More silly people.  Nice to have family to watch and cheer the kids on.  The only downfall for the day was Andrea and Becca's game being schedules for the same time...of all the hours in the day??

Sunday morning-a first cool morning for us.  The kids were freezing.  This was my wake-up call to go shopping.  Alway hard to stay on top of pants for the kids or coats for that matter.  Buy it when Sams club puts it out is now my method!

Brayden has an awesome Science and Social Studies teacher...tonight it was edible cell making.  He just finished a unit on Jamestown which he loved.
Thanks to Becca who made all the flags for Brayden

The kids are participating in the Wed night programing for the 4th and fifth graders this year...the younger ones just tag along as they always need more adults around.

Last month the kids went out to the Tulsa Youth Ranch and helped do some work on the grounds.

We helped clear fence lines and prune trees
 My worker boy.

I hung with the girls...not sure how much work was done by the boys but they were all about the smores at the end.

End of the month they all do something fun...this month was lazer tag.
The girls were all excited to go but came out not too excited....too much smoke, too crazy and Becca said she just got lost and had to keep shooting her friends just so she would get a couple point.  Of Course the boys had a blast.

It was also time for out Anual Walk-a-thon.  The kids love this and we love it....as long as the weather holds.  As usual rain was in the forcast but by the afternoon the sun was out and the kids were ready to run.
James and his buddy Ben.

 Andrea ready to go...
aaaand they are off!  These little kids are so funny, K3 though 2nd.  They all sprint for two laps then walk.  The excitment is short lived and the hour seems very long.

Andrea's class-Mrs Maney.  Andrea is all about running, along with James.

My favorite group...I love the little ones but 3rd-5th graders are so much fun.  I love their smiles, so fun to see them grow up.
 All set to go.

 aaannnd they are off!
I really didn't know how much Brayden was going to run-usually he is the sprinter who ends up walking.  I think soccer has conditioned him because he ran a steady pace-7.5 miles in an hour.  I was a little concerned.  By the time we made it home he was shivering and his lips were gray...reminding me of someone else in our family-ugh!
He recovered and was up ready to play soccer the next day at eight, gotta love being young.
Brayden had a bonfire with his class-time to have kids and parents come together.  I love this about a smaller school...helps pull us together, especially as there are a bunch of new families this year.  Middle School is on the mind of many-I think I am in the minority of being excited for it.
Andrea has started the year of book reports.  It sound daunting to have one every month, but they are such fun ideas.  We had fun putting this one together and next month she is excited to write one on the snowy owl.
Okay, so school is a lot of work and we spend a lot of time here but it is not without some fun.  The girls loved the swings today as they hung out waiting for Parent Teacher Conferences to finish.

Thank you for the annual walk-a-thon picture and the one from the bonfire. I am not sure how I missed taking one! I too am looking forward to Middle school! I am anxious to see what God has planned for these two boys!!!

Looks like you have been staying busy! I love it that they still like to just have fun on the swings. Congrats Brayden...that's a lot of running! Enjoy your fall break. (btw I like your chair and rug outside on the deck too)
