Andrea and Fall Break

Fall Break was finally here last week and WOW...we were sooo ready for a break!  The kids worked so hard the week before.  I had conferences with all their teachers with no surprises-thxs to all the updates and teacher info they post online you pretty much know exactly where your kids stand which is really nice.  Each one works hard...when they want too.  Brayden is not a fan of historical history, James is not the greatest at working with younger kids. All four need to continue to push themselves at reading, but for the most part they are all doing just fine-thankfully, because at this point I don't think we could do much more in the school work department!  The best part of the teacher conferences-so crazy after a full day and with all kids in tow was walking into James' conference and having his teacher take my hands and quiet my mind and heart to pray.  The Lord is my peace, so nice to have someone take the time to remind me of that!

Andrea began her fall break a day early with her Umbilical Hernia Repair.  It was a super early morning...long morning.  The entire process was more taxing than the procedure itself.  She did great-surgery was only 45 min max but we were at the hospital for about 5 hours.  The Dr told me no activity or PE class for two weeks.  Within one day Andrea was whining about not being able to do anything.  The kids were full into outdoor play, air-soft wars, trampoline jumping and tag, and soccer games. Funny as most times the older kids are screaming at Andrea for quitting and not playing and now when she was told she can't play she actually wants to join-go figure!!
All smiles when she was given and nice warm blanket.  She wasn't really nervous-most happy just to wear her PJ's and take her fuzzy blanket.

Waking up was rough...not a happy camper.  Although she did remember to find out her Nurses name-funny because it was Nancy.  Easy for her to remember matching both her Grandma's!

After a day of watching TV she was up to her silliness...not sure what was going on but something was funny.

Vacation means time to get the mini baker out---thrills.

Packages and phone calls all made Andrea feel pretty special.

Not sure if we are going to make two weeks of low activity...she was ready to go after three days.

Fall break as flown by.  The kids have loved just being kids.  We made it back to the library, played a lot outside-thanks to some wonderful weather.  Grass seed got planted, they had fun with friends-lots of airsoft wars, stay up late at a Metro Football game.  Fall parties and backyard baptism's all filled up our time.  For the most part the kids just enjoyed not having a schedule.  Wednesday evening we actually had an entire evening at home-complete with a meal all together.  So nice to have the time to sit and enjoy a meal together or as much as you can with four crazy kids at the table.

We didn't make it out camping this year. I have to say I bailed out on that idea-it just sounded like too much work . The kids didn't seem to care and having a fire/smores a couple nights was just the best.  We managed to read an entire story and ended one evening by being serenaded by a bunch of owls-so much fun.  The best was heading back into the house and getting to sleep in my own bed!

Okay...this is what the kids love doing, just being silly and having fun.
