IT REALLY WAS A BLIZZARD!

The weather men had been predicting a winter Blizzard to blow into town last night but I really didn't think it was  going to be too bad.  Okay, I believed them enough to get my grocery shopping done Sunday night, load up on Dog food and make a trip to Hobby Lobby.  I still was not too sure as I left the gym Monday night and there was no snow in sight...yet a blizzard warning was in effect-seemed kind of silly to me.  What do you know, at around Midnight it hit, lots of wind along with Thunder and Lightening and freezing rain.  Ephie didn't last too long in her crate, she didn't move from the floor on my side of the bed all night.  What fun the morning brought, lots of drifts-winter was definitely back in full swing. We couldn't even open our back doors to let Ephie out in the morning. The kids....and I love these days of just hanging out.  Brayden played the Wii and Becca was deep into the craft drawer, along with some new crafts we had picked up.   All three kids played outside, Andrea didn't last too long.  Brayden actually played outside with his friend for quite a while after lunch, jumping off our mailbox, sledding and berrying themselves.  We did manage a little reading, although I enjoyed more reading my book than helping Brayden tackle all the work his teacher sent home.  I wonder why we don't get anything done....I am so undisciplined and love these lazy days.  I really don't think they will be back to school the rest of this week.

It is pretty cold and only going to get colder.  This kids were ready to head out and see how deep the snow really was.

I love this picture, this was after the kids first got out and they all had different reactions.

Any corner of the house was just full of snow-it snowed most of the day.

The one snow shovel we have is a kids shovel, but my gardening spade works pretty well.

What we saw when Ron first put up the garage door.
Back to the lego's, this is what I found when I went looking for Ron and Brayden.  James is all about finding this room-I found him once sitting there all by himself Lego's in hand and mouth...happy as could be.

We made cookies...how could we not on a day like today.  Andrea is sooo silly, she wanted to sit and watch but was not too happy when she found out my oven light was burnt out.

The boys room/window is also a corner, Ron was pretty surprised when he put up the shade to find the snow half way up the window.
