School Walk-a-thon

Friday was the big elementary fund raiser at Brayden and Becca's school.  They all walked the track for one hour and kept track of how many laps they completed.  I walked with them-or should say walked with Becca.  Brayden was off running most of the hour.  It was a beautiful morning and a lot of fun to hang out with all the kids and parents.  It you can believe Brayden completed 20laps in one hour-5miles.  Becca did great and completed about 9-2miles.  I was thinking we should have put a cap on our donation for Brayden-as the pledges were based on how many laps the kids would complete.

Andrea was so excited to walk and be at school.  She lasted about one lap and spent most of the time sitting on the bench waiting for me to come around. Yes, James got to hang out in the front pack-no strollers on the new track.

I love seeing how excited the kids are to see each other.  Becca spent the first 3 laps looking for Brayden and then did her best to keep up with him when she finally saw him.  She has a hard time understanding why Brayden doesn't hang out with her at school.  She would have loved to walk the entire hour with him.

Go, Becca Go.  She did such a great job.  It is amazing how young trying to fit in starts-it was hard for me to see how she wanted so badly to walk with girls in her class but not be out going enough to run up and join them, and when finally getting up the courage seeing the other girls take off and leave her.  She is still so sensitive-something I love about her.  Totally opposite of Brayden who would just chase after anyone.  Crazy how little clicks starts so young....oh how I wish she could just not go through all that awkward girl friends stuff.

Brayden kept on going and going-one big sweaty mess!

Becca ended the day with a surprise party for Mrs. Oxenham.
