May-an overwelming month

Every year this month becomes just a bit too much.  School comes to an end but in doing so with a lot of extra projects and activities.  Sports team push strong through the end, usually with lots of make up dates for early spring storms.  Summer schedules need to be figured out and as the kids get older the dates fill up, overlap and just seem too much to figure out...seeing as everyone has some sort of form along with payment.  Thankfully the kids love it and they just want to spend time with friends.  With the nicer weather it leaves us having to learn to acclimate to heat instead of the cold.  Lets just say we are better at packing extra water than extra clothes and blankets!  So this is just a bunch of pictures from the last couple weeks...a collection before the usual end of school pictures.

On quick note....with the craziness that this time of year brings it bring much stress to many of our kids.  I am still working up at school and this month has turned into psych month.  Please don't ignore the stresses our kids have to face, whether academic, family, friends the kids have plenty on their plate.  I have seen too many that don't have a clue how to deal with the heaviness of life.  Take the time to teach kids how to cope....how can they get through the day if they have no coping tools in their belt, which many don't???  And letting them just rush home to a safety net is not the answer.  Life is hard/messy but help them through these times, talk...don't just schedule.  I am amazed at how many kids don't understand how to deal with their emotions.  Okay thats my rant....onto the pics.

First thing to come to an end was the kids Wednesday night church group.  Always a wrap up party.  Brayden was at Lazer Quest and Becca headed to Main Event.

Braydens Middle School Soccer Team also came to an end...complete with Pool Party.

James class stuck in one last field trip to the Linnea's teaching gardens...I couldn't pass this one up.  Super beautiful!

Andrea spend the better part of this month researching and preparing for her poster presentation on her State.  I loved that they kids worked on this all at school-even preparing and presentation on the I-pad.

James got to have his birthday celebration at school.  Such a fun moment-he was super excited to have popcicles and sit up front with his best friend...who also has a birthday.  The kids make a book for them complete with pictures and writing what they like best about the birthday boy...the word they all used...must have learned about it that week they were working on their pages was radiant!

Mother's day was also thrown into this crazy month...James gave me a mother's day tea in his class.

Guess who has been biking and losing weight.  With the new diet Ron is able to bike four hours and not be on the couch the rest of the day!

It was an Sunday that we were able to spend at home...something I am looking forward to this summer!  It was a beautiful day for a bike ride with the family.  Also complete with a delicious meal using my new Joule-perfect meat, deliciously soft/moist.

Middle School had their first dance-Neon.  The girls were all excited about dressing up and then didn't want to get out of the car!

Becca had her Spring Band Concert...although it really feels like summer.  Super fun to celebrate this growing band program.  Becca's 6th grade band came back from Branson with a 2nd place, beating out some 7/8th grade bands.

James is finishing up Baseball...strong short stop and even bigger hitter this time around.  His team is finally able to get three outs and end an inning with out being run ruled!

Soccer also has finished...James might be smaller but he was pretty speedy and feisty this season.

I love that Becca's ended up on a team with our old neighbor...so fun to reconnect!

Becca finished up her season as well...my strong Lefty who can cross the ball like no issue from the left.

First time to play with friends from school.

Andrea's team also wrapped things up.  Such a tough little team, played up this time to keep the team together and get it their all every game against some big girls!
Brayden also ended his final season with MTSC.  Hard to believe he has maxed out the Rec league.  This picture is special as Hudson made it to the game...growing up the boys didn't think they would ever play together.  Sadly it was a terrible game and dropped the boys out of first place. On to the next phase of soccer...one I have always been avoiding, more to come later.

Another special time....getting to play with a friend who has always been on different teams.

We finished the sports weekend with  a tournament with another friends team.  The boys made it to the final and it was a tough game- I wish I had taken a pic of the other team and you would understand.  Brayden and the back line where solid but lost the game on a free kick given to the other team by the ref who was mid field -no where near the play.

A just because its the final season....Brayden sweated it out in baseball.  Sadly having to miss the final game of the tournament due to a umpire shortage/delay, messing out schedule up. The sting rays pulled a second place in their final tournament of the season.

Did I mention that summer is trying to take off....along with activities.  Brayden is headed to Wynn River Wyoming this summer with the church youth group for a week.  This Sunday they were commissioned and also had a fundraiser/car wash.

I love finding teams with solid coaches!  It's been a great season for all the kids.  And  the bonus is that the teams are hopefully all staying together for the fall...making my job easy.

Laney's birthday day at the  year end soccer party....she loved having the girls sing to her.

We ended Andrea's soccer season with a pool party.  We filled the pool up and the yard with her team's family's.  A perfect night for swimming and smores.
