The kids are all about boiled eggs and this morning-colored pancakes and waffles. They opted for red which turned pink...which turned my stomach!
We woke up to a huge bang followed by some huge house shaking on Saturday. This was the biggest earthquake by far that I have felt. It jolted all but James out of bed. I which I was wearing a heart monitor because my heart went from resting/sleeping to racing which in secs! it was a rude awakening...and I was hoping for everyone to sleep in! This also has left a mess of aftermath for the oil industry. Wells were shut down and restrictions put in place on an already strained oil industry.
Brayden ended up playing a bunch more soccer that what we thought. Some indoor and then as a guest for another team for a weekend tournament. He has had a lot of new opportunities and experiences lately which are so good for him/stretch him-but can be stressful at the same time.
Sunday we did manage to get out of town and relax. Robber's cave is always a great get away. The kids had fun hiking, doing a little climbing and then just relaxing and hanging out. Our friends from baseball came along-always fun to have friends along.
I didn't take any pictures but thankfully our friends did. The kids did a lot of swimming, fishing-although they didn't catch any fish.
It was a full day for James-he kept up with all the kids but just didn't quite make it home. He is extra cute lately, sporting a toothless grin-both top teeth are gone.
Monday morning after a huge bike clinic-6 flat tires fixed we loaded the bikes up to watch the Great Raft Race. Okay a super slow float with a huge head wind...we only saw about 10 rafts and decided to bike back. Still fun to watch-lots of people, lots of music, everyone enjoying a day to relax and see some fun creative rafts float the river.
We ended our week by finishing our BFG book and seeing the movie. The kids really liked the book and surprisingly the movie pretty much matched the actually story-line-except for the ending. A strange book but sweet enough to hold everyone's attention.
