Fall activities

Just a couple pics of what is keeping the kids and us busy.  All that missing is a picture of them/us studying for school...but I am afriad a picture wouldn't capture it all.  Brayden has multiple tests but thinks he knows it all-funny when his grades don't really reflect that and then we get the standard answer-who cares!  actually some days I really don't care, and those are the days we stop at Braums on the way home and just have ice-cream and some good laughs.  James is plugging away at his reading-so thankful for all the hard work his K4 teacher made us do last year. The girls are deep into math and math facts. Spelling and Bible verses-I am convinced we do a lot of teaching in regards to memorizing.  Comprehension is a bit of a problem I am finding as they get older...which seems to be a whole lot harder to teach.  Becca just finished her bug project-thankfully only four and she loved designing her board, a whole lot different than Brayden who I could hardly confince to even write Ugly Bug project on his board.

This is all I am seeing lately...huge bow order to complete and not enouph time!

The girls were pretty excited to get some cheer bows...even if they don't cheer.

Did I mention we have been to Braums...this hot weather just does us in on Saturdays.

Free time is so important for the kids...there is always work to do or homework and things to study but this is what keeps the kids attitudes going.  Some new beads always keeps Becca and Andrea going.  Although this week the goal of doing mulitple back bends is all they have been working on.

A couple new beyblades and all the old stuff is hauled out-fun to play with again.

Andrea played her heart out this game.  We pushed her to stay in the play more and she did.  Her team was getting scored on multiple times but she stuck it out.  Hard lessons to learn...at one point she looked at me and said what does it matter we are going to lose-she is so intent on winning or getting things done perfect.  Anway-life lessons learned on the soccer field.  She kept at it and scored a goal for her team, they didn't win by any means but she knew she played her best.  A hard afternoon game for her.

After many loses last year, moving to a bigger field this year...more players/positions we didn't know quite what to expect from these girls.  What do you know their first game and they one...so many smiles and screams.  Best things was to see the girls start to understand the game, pass and play the field.

Becca's class led chapel this week.  She wanted to be the door greeter but told me only boys got that job so she was singing.  So fun to see her singing rather than holding the door-I didn't mind!

Her own idea to make it look like a Caterpillar.

I like your caterpillar bug Becca! That was a cute way to add your facts into the design.
