Flowers-Love them!

Not just any flowers but Perennials.  There is just something about spring that makes me want to go to the garden center to research and buy plants to fill our yard.  This year I am instead enjoying those perennials that are coming up and for the first time blooming-thriving!  It's one thing to plant them but to see them grow each year just amazes me. How fun is it to see plants that barely hung on last year after planting to get flowers this spring.  I think because our house is on a hill stripped of any healthy top soil and to have any plant that can survive the clay and rock each year is just a triumph.
This week we are enjoying a little indoor plant.

We don't have any indoor plants as the cats tend to nibble on them all.  But the girls found these cute little succulents and the cats have kept their distance!    The interesting thing has been Andrea's plant.  The reason the girls wanted these so bad was they each had a small little flower at the top.  This what made the girls think they were just the best and prettiest.  Sadly after a while Andrea's flower started to fall off-it took a while for it to tall off and she was pretty upset and kind of wrote off her plant.  With no flower it was no longer cute and she didn't really like it any more.  Well we kept watching it-not like it needs much water and one day we woke up to find it covered in tiny buds, very strange.  After a couple weeks they grew, bloomed and turned toward the light-beautiful!  Guess who loves her plant now??  This is amazing to me because it is like our life-you think you know what you want or what you need and that is the goal, most of the time it's good and makes sense. But you never know what the real need, or the blessings that come with faith and trust. The flowers are not on top, they look a bit odd but Andrea thinks they are far better than her original single bloom. Funny thing about this plant is that it didn't even need water-it does best with drought, and it still bloomed!  Guess we just keep on going.
