Some Updating

Not a lot of writing, just some pics to catch up on some of our summer activities.   It has been a raining day which means lots of indoor time.  Neighbor kids are around which is great but makes for a lot of kids, which leads to a sense of loss of control.  I am not quite sure what is going to happen when they are all teenagers-the thought scares me!

This is what happens when the kids want to stay up and we are too tired to make them go to bed!

Happy Father's day.  Brayden was off early this morning but we had a very special celebrations with the best dad ever!
We were all pretty excited to see Brayden.  James was missing his buddy a bunch and told me he was going to tackle Brayden when he got back.  The excitement lasted for about one day!

Brayden has been at soccer camp mornings this week, the girls have been having fun doing some baking....crazy cake was on the agenda today.  They were excited to have "baking camp"  but really its to just eat rough dough and lick the beaters!
On rainy days the boys were finally kicked to the basement-their energy is endless...unless they are in front of a computer screen.
Most pictures are of fun times...this is a shot of reality-most of the time is work, I just choose to remember the fun times.  This morning we tackled the drains in front of the house.  I am still a hater of OK soil-or clay.

Wool-a-Roc had its annual kids day.  The was Frank Phillips get a way ranch...now open to the public.  A fun day of crafts, games and animals.  Last year we were hit with thunder storms and spent all our time in the museum.  I have to say I enjoyed learning about the grounds and the rich history surrounding the land and its owners.  This year  all the carnival hype was fun for the kids but some how masked the real beauty of this land.

The Sunday before the fourth we had a big church celebration-One Nation Under God.  The kids rode their bikes to church as there was bike decorating, dunk tank, music, food and just a nice time to fellowship after the worship service.

Decorating bikes in the parking lot turned out to be quite hot...not as much fun as they thought.  We thought they were all going to ride in a group around the church.  Turned out they each rode individually in front of the stage...they felt a little goofy.

Best part of that day was catching up with Brayden's Kindergarten teacher.  This lady was they best for us and gave us such encouragement when we felt Brayden would never catch on to reading.  She is such a wonderful  special person, we loved seeing her and her family.  Even better was getting to hold her little baby and seeing her family grow!

Fourth of July weekend we took an mini family vacation to Kansas City.  Yeah for time away to actually chill out and have fun with the kids, no reading, no work just time to have fun and enjoy each other.  Two Thumbs up for the Schlitterbahn Water Park.  Free tubes, free parking and they allowed coolers/food and drinks!

A cool front came through and it was actually a little chilly the first day we were there-okay still in the 80's but after a super hot week in Tulsa it was refreshing.  Our table was only half in the shade-a concern but turned out we all wanted to be in the sun.

The park was great for everyone.  Brayden had fun trying the surfing wave park, James loves the lazy river...which wasn't so lazy-full of rapids and falls and mini drop offs.  He thought he was king of the boat racing though the ride.  It made me laugh every time looking at him on his knees fist pumped in the air as he rode over the rapids.

Worlds largest water slide.  Lets just say...not for me!  Ron and the older two conquered the ride. That bit of blue on the second rung of steps is Ron and Becca.  I don't know what was hardest, getting a time to ride or getting tipped over the edge at the top.

I had no clue when they were coming down and really couldn't see if it was even them in the boats. They were the last ones to go in their group.

Brayden eyes made us all laugh in this picture.

My Brave ones!

 Their expression after getting off.

 Special time together.

I had to eat with these dinosaurs!

So many fireworks this night-surrounding the city.  We found a spot and enjoyed the view.

We explored Crown Plaza before heading home Sunday.  Not really impressive but we had a good time.  Lego Land was not great-but the kids had fun.

Seeing the kids faces during a 4D movie is what makes it...James didn't know what was coming.

Neatest place to eat and we just stumbled onto it.  Fritz's old fashioned burgers.  You call in your order and then a train delivers it to your table.  So cool that the kids wanted to keep ordering so we could see it deliver more food to the table.

The basket of food hung down from the train and it would leave it at your table tray which lowered down to your table-very cool!
