THE FINAL DAY!!

School is officially done and we have had quite the week.  The moms I have run into have all been running on fumes trying to keep up with just the basics...just making lunches is exhausting amidst all the year end fun!  The kids have had parties, presentations, fun days....so many things to pull together as the year comes to a close.  Becca and Brayden had there class presentations yesterday, always special to see what there teacher has to say to each of them after teaching them for a year.
Brayden had Mrs Allred this year.  She is a short lady and it was amazing to see how the kids have grown...some almost as tall as her by the end of the year.  She was laughing at this point because she had gotten Brayden and another friend's paper mixed up.  She started to say that his character trait was Gentleness....hmmmm, I wasn't sure where she was going with that one.  Anyway back on track, his Character trait was FRIENDSHIP, and the bible verse was
 Proverbs 18:24
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who                                               sticks closer than a brother.
The kids receive other awards in there folder but look at then once they get home.  Brayden made the headmasters honor roll, an award in social studies, math, spelling, science and the award for National Fitness Challenge.

It was Becca's teacher's first year teaching, unfortunately she announced that she is taking a break from teaching next year.  I am not sure if that had any bearing on how her year went with Becca's class.  Becca's favorite thing about her teacher was that she was always happy and never yelled at the class.  They also did classroom awards. Becca received the Character trait for being Joyful.
The Joy of the Lord is my strength  Nehemiah 8:10b
Becca also received some more awards, she made the headmaster's Honor Roll, received an award for reading (she made such improvements from the beginning of the school year!) and made the Presidents Fitness Challenge.  Her biggest smile was discovering her overall spelling grade.  It was such a challenge for her and we were so proud of how she stuck it out and studied.

The kids all came home and went through their packets.  Becca had written a book that we all had a fun time reading, along with a scrap book with some favorite memories of the year.

Andrea also recieved a packet of awards with her last report card.  Funny thing is that she did great in all areas excpet for not knowing her address and phone number.  Andrea received the Miss Manners Award-for showing respect and being a great role model in her class, an outstanding artist award and also the National Fitness Challenge.  Andrea's teacher gave her the  outstanding Character qualities of
Politeness and Responsibility.
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.  1Peter 3:8
We finished off the school year with a huge party at SkyZone-they kids were exhausted after just a half day of school!  The girls worked endlessly on their back handspring-Andrea progressed faster than Becca in class.  I don't think I have ever seen Becca look more determined and focused than in class yesterday, she is such a hard worker! What a year of accomplishments.  Now if we can only keep these attitudes and fruit of the spirit character traits growing as we survived the summer all together!!
