A NEW PUPPY!

It was hard for me to believe that the day had finally arrived to pick up our little puppy.  It seemed like such a long wait since I had found this breeder-Christmas.  I had been telling myself for the past two months that the whole thing might fall through so when the call came that we could actually pick her up I almost didn't believe it.  Out of a little of three, two little females to chose from, almost identical but a little different in demeanor  We chose the more submissive/docile female puppy...no more kings or queens in this house!  Saturday I waited patiently (not really) for Ron to finish his bike ride and then had fun telling the kids with a scavenger hunt.  I wanted to just tell them but they all wanted a scavenger hunt...good thing Ron is great figuring them out. Everyone was super excited and we were off to Wewonka OK later Saturday afternoon.  It is always eye opening to drive through some of the rural towns between Tulsa and Ok City. Sadly sometimes I truly think we do live in a bubble.  I have been told many times our house must be full.....we arrived to a double wide with four kids and three foster kids. Oh, complete with breeding German Shepherds and little Daschunds.  Amazingly it didn't seem out of control or down right scary...just cozy/homey.   It sounds totally crazy but they seemed like a wonderful family.  Anyway, little Lilly...the whole name thing really threw us off, made it home and is adjusting to life in our house. We make horrible family decisions, maybe this is why we don't include the kids in our decision process until Ron and I agree!   Anyway, welcome Lilly 7wks old, our new German Shepherd puppy!

Can you figure it out?  I had a puppy book out all week and no kid asked why.
Ephie is sulking a bit.  She doesn't really know what to do with lily...who would love to get a hold of her tail.  The look in Ephie's face is perfect in describing how she feels.

Lily's favorite place to lay is in our pile of shoes by the back door...she must like the smell?

Now it is on to potty training and crate training.  Crate training being more tough at the moment.  She finally will eat in her crate...hoping for a smoother night tonight.

This is EPHIE....she was 10wks when we got her.
