I am beginning tor realize that the weekends require as much work or more than the week days. As the kids get bigger, more activities and just more active around the house and neighbor kids things tend to feel like a crazy made house when everyone is home....but then again I can't complain-we love it (even if it leaves us exhausted) This weekend was Brayden's Derby car race. The girls also have a "powder puff" race next week for AHG so Ron has been busy building three cars, which never seems like a fast/easy task. Friday night after basketball practice (such a "pain in the butt time" for practice!) there was a practice derby car night, basically making sure the cars were all proper weight. I wouldn't think .1ouce would matter but I guess it does. Saturday we were all up and rolling...what happened to lay around in Pj Saturday? It doesn't seem to bother the kids any. After dropping his car off at the races-conveniently at our church we headed off to Brayden's basketball game. Thankfully a fun game, pretty evenly matched after last weeks decimation game. Thankfully the Derby Car races take a while and we were still able to see the last two heats after Brayden's game. The girls were able to race as well....although they don't get trophy's. Turned out Ron's work paid off. Andrea had the record time over all. Brayden was first in his Den and Becca's car was fifth over all. Most fun was seeing all the decorations the kids came up with.
I love seeing James' face light up at half time playing with Brayden.
Brayden raced "bone crusher, Becca raced "kitty" and Andrea raced "rainbow" We will see how the girls' cars hold up next week against their AHG friends' cars.
We spent the rest of the day enjoying the beauty of an early spring day. Running in shorts and short sleeves and feeling the sun on my skin was just the best. Ron was off on his bike and the kids ran the neighborhood-a perfect day.
Today the kids are home from school. Cinnamon rolls were the request. I decided to make them from scratch...pretty funny when Becca ran into the kitchen yelling that she wanted to "pop the cans." They actually had a lot of fun rolling the dough and making them...but most fun eating them.
Life is never dull and I must admit ignoring the chaos is getting harder and harder. The little voices in my ear are constant. ( James is currently screaming because he can't play the tablet...a two year old?!?) Today a fort has been made, nerf war battled. My mind is over flowing with the details of the day, food, along with bigger requirements of school and American Heritage Girls, and church. Brayden told me his brain was getting too full the other day for anymore learning. I told her mine was about to bust but still holding strong after so many years of endless information...... so he better stick to it, as should I.
