Berry Picking OK Style!

I have thought about picking berries for the past couple of years but every time the thought passes through my head I see the thermometer and the bright sun and I just head to the store for our berries.  Well, I missed strawberry's (seems like everything is early this season) but the blueberry's were ripe for picking and the weather this week has been beautiful-almost chilly today. So this morning we drove out to who know where ( you never know what you can find surrounding Tulsa)....Thunderbird Farm, yes people actually managed to grow things in this clay, hot soil.  There were Blackberries and Blueberries.  We got as early as a start as we could-the person I talked to said I should get there at 7am when they open for best pickin....we managed to hit the field around 8:30.  It was a beautiful morning, sunny, cool.  So fun to pick with the kids.  Brayden is such a focused picker, I think he filled my bucket numerous times.  Blueberries were short little bushes and we found it was just easier to sit and pick then bend over.  The berries were small but still yummy.  James would just stand by a bush picking and eating.  Becca did some picking but Brayden took the cake for most picked.  Becca was more excited about coming home and baking-same with me!  Blueberry pie and Blackberry cobbler so far.
