Weekend Away
Seeing as we had an extra day in our weekend with Presidants Day we decided to make a mini-vacation our of this past weekend. We told the kids on Valentines day that we were going to take them to Great Wolf Lodge. They were super excited and Andrea kept telling anyone who would listen that she was going to Wolf Wolf Lodge. We left Saturday and after a long 4hr drive-yes, long....I know compared to 12 hrs it should have been short but with James hollering ever ten minutes for something or getting mad over our lack of understanding the drive seemed to take forever! It was a great weekend. Brayden was all over the water park-yeah, finally tall enouph to do whatever he wanted and able to swim well enouph I didn't worry about having my eyes on him at all times. Becca was all about the lazy river-warm and fast, I liked it too. Ron and I traded off with kids making some nice individual time with each kid. I love spending "fun" time with the kids-as well as Ron, and seeing them laugh, jump, run, was just the best. James did well and lasted about as long as Andrea in the pools. The kids had fun Saturday evening with story time in the lobby-although James was not too sure about the talking trees and animals. We discovered a craft center which Becca was pretty excited about and the boys hit the roof when they found a game center downstairs. Mornings we had fun doing a little "wolf walk" in the lobby and then playing some bingo. Of course we couldn't leave without visiting the sweet shop. Thanks to Grandparents for ice-cream money. They kids all got blue bubble gum ice-cream-complete with big pieces of bubble gum. With all the swimming and activity's the kids slept great-although James did managed to sweet talk his way into our bed...snuggling in around 2am much to my frustration he says in his sweetest little voice "thank you" It was a wonderful weekend-time to just play with our kids which for us is most enjoying (and a little tiring!)
