WE REALLY DO LIVE IN OK!!

Today I had the realization that I am now truly someone from Oklahoma. Not that I have started wearing cowboy boots or chewing or loosing my teeth (okay, just rude stereotypes but you get the picture), but Andrea and I had the rude awakening to the world of OK bugs. Sunday we were out along the Tulsa Triathlon race course cheering our wonderful husband/dad along. At some point we decided to have seat...since it was about a 4 hour ordeal. Needless to say I didn't really care where we were sitting just as long as it was shaded. Well, I will not be sitting in any OK grass for a while. Turned out we must have sat in a loaded chigger pile. Now, I don't really know what chiggers are or what they do, but after doing some research I was totally disgusted. Hoping I was the only one to get them was too good to be true, poor Andrea had welts covering her diaper line today. We did make the trip to the Dr, I am sure she thought I was crazy but I wanted to make sure that it was just chiggers, seeing as I have never seen any rash like this. WELL....they are good ole Oklahoma chigger bites-what a pain! I am still trying to figure out how we are the first to get them on our family, seeing as Ron has hiked all over the Osage hills without so much as a tick bite!
