Spring Break-Colorado

We loaded up the car with all things winter..kind of hard as it was seventy and sunny in Tulsa, and took the week off for Colorado a couple weeks ago.  We stopped in first at my brother Davids house-time with new baby and cousins are always fun.  So special to see little Nathaniel.  We were able to head to church with them and spend a day hiking.

We filled up the car with kids-took a friend of Braydens' along.  Brave enough to handle a week with everyone!

We loved climbing these boulders-the three sisters.  A couple snowflakes in the air when we made it to the top.

Remember that time when you ran in the snow from the hot tub??  The kids went crazy with this first snow in Golden...they ended up running up the path in snow, bare feet and swimsuits-even convinced Will to try it.

First snow, so fun to get a big snow in Golden even before headed up to the mountains.

Then we were off to WinterPark and our Condo.  Turned out to be perfect with a bus stop right by our Condo making it super easy getting to the ski area.

Kids were ready pretty excited with all the snow.

We hung out at the Condo for the afternoon, after picking up all the ski gear-kids played in the snow, made forts and managed to find some pretty big icicles.

All ready for the first bus of the day-out the door and at the stop by 8.  Ready for a full day of skiing.

Lunch Break the first day-all survived.
It took a couple runs for everyone to find their
legs.  Hudson took a crash course on turning
and was a sport keeping up!

We had plenty snow...dressed for spring skiing and should have dressed for winter skiing.  The first day an extra break was needed to warm up!

David and Will Came up the second day and amazed everyone with how awesome and brave Will did at skiing.  We had a lot of fun skiing together and then hanging out at the condo and swimming in the evening.

Branching out into some harder runs after a day. Kid still love the runs with little bumps along the runs-in and out of the trees.

Third day, Ron, David and Brayden headed to A basin for some hard core skiing.  The rest of us took a day to rest our legs.  Brayden quickly learned what a cornise was!

The rest of us took a day to play in the snow, do some tube sledding and of course watch lots of TV.

The last day of skiing we left the parking lot, sweating in our ski gear and listening to kids tell me they were too hot.  By the second chair lift this is what everyone looked like.

This was us before the storm hit.  A couple runs after James was cryng, Ron was soaked and I was seriously thinking we were going to have to call it a day.  We ended up in a warming hut...not really a warm hut but just a place out of the wind and snow.  Most all our gear was either frozen or drenched.  We decided an early and long lunch was in order.  Ron headed back to the condo for more clothes and we layered up.  After drying out and waiting out the storm we managed to have a fun afternoon

Rons family has a picture on this rock in the summer...a bit different in snow.

Last run down for the day and vacation and the sun peaked its way out.

Read the sign....this area was a lot of fun but a workout.
