Just a couple pics from this season of soccer. All four kids have played and all have had pretty decent seasons even with a bunch of shake up in teams due to changes in the age brackets...always a pain to break up team. Becca ended up having to move up to U14 with was a big jump but turned out okay seeing as it was a big jump for a lot of other teams and girls. We managed to get James on a team from some boys from school, a little older but he has been hanging with them and doing just fine. Andrea was able to stick with her same team-so nice to have a great group of coaches who are all about teaching the girls the game and strategy. Brayden's coach decided to stay back in U14-their correct age category, instead of playing up with U16...a hard choice (seeing as U16 is some pretty big boys and many on our team are still small) so the season for their team has had little/no competition for their team. I have to say they can sure pass and play with the ball! We will see what next season brings. Just a couple more games and practices before we run out of daylight....and warmth!
This day was the first cold morning-Brayden was first on the fields to Ref...about 33 degrees and he refused to wear and hat! He ended up refing James/ game-a conflict of interest but too much of a hassle to request rescheduling and if you know Brayden, everything is pretty black and white, so no issues.
James is all about strategy. He has watched too much soccer and I have to tell him to be nice to his team-mates as he loves to yell where they should be or when they should pass.
Brayden plays defense so not a lot of action this year...I just thought he looked pretty old in the picture!
He gets to play up once the team is ahead by a bunch-this makes it pretty fun for him.
My strong girl up top. She doesn't like to do a lot of mid-field work but once that ball pops out to her up top she loves to run and score.
