Meet the Teacher, Time for School!

The past week is a blur and taking pictures of the kids once we step foot into Metro almost seems impossible.  My brain can't seem to keep all the teachers straight, each have their own forms they want signed or plan they want the kids to use...somehow they are all melded into one by the time I walk out!  I am all for not having kids who are catered too or think they are entitled to virtually anything they want.  Sorry for them...I just can't do it all, so they are one there own.  Thankfully as they grow and (slightly) mature, they are becoming more independent.
Meet the teacher day was exciting-each kid, no matter if they said it or not was excited to see their classroom and meet their teacher.  I have learned that this is when I take pictures and the first day of school is just too crazy.

James is in K4, full time with Mrs Kelley.  We will all miss Mrs Oxenham this year!
Andrea is in 2nd grade and has Mrs Maney-a wonderful repeat from Brayden.
Becca is in Fourth Grade and had Mrs King for home room with three additional teachers-two who are new from last year (not helping in my memory of keeping teachers straight!)
Brayden is in Fifth Grade and has Mrs Sharabok for home room and three additional teachers.

This was quite the day as it was right after we arrived back from our trip to Michigan.  The whole schedule/responsibility to things others than US?!? totally threw me.  My birthday was the next day and it was a harsh reality realizing I needed to pull out the calendar and check it-after missing appointments and forgetting school/paperwork...a rough day, time to pull it together, and be responsible....no fun!

Instead of school prep-we decided to hang a hummingbird feeding.  So much more enjoyable seeing these guys come feed.

My awesome kids I got to spend the summer with-each so different, each making me work!  We had so much more on our list to do this summer with each other.  Crazy how we can have summer but run out of moments together as a family.

We did make it through the day and enjoyed some cake and ice-cream, after a dinner out because my extra bag of charcoal that I thought was on the shelf ended up being the bag I had just finished-did I mention nothing went smoothly this day??

First day pictures. It was rush to get to chapel, after being told I need to park the car elsewhere, making us late only then to arrive to chapel where the music teacher ended up being sick so the singing and was a bit off.  I am sure hoping things smooth out after last week, (although Brayden came home yesterday with a fever)
